KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry will issue a new Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2021 schedule soon, says Education Minister Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin.
In a video on Facebook on Monday (Nov 22), Radzi said the Ministry had received a lot of feedback from parents and SPM 2021 candidates regarding the SPM exam schedule released by the ministry.
“We took into account all views expressed and I have had a discussion with the Examination Board and the Ministry’s senior management to look into all viewpoints and statements made and to take the necessary action to analyse each view.
“We will issue a new schedule regarding SPM 2021 in the near future. Thank you,” he said.
The Senior Minister also expressed his appreciation to parents and exam candidates for their views.
On Nov 17, the Ministry issued a statement announcing that the examination timetable for SPM, Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) and the Ujian Pencapaian Bahasa Antarabangsa (UPBA) for 2021 was ready and could be downloaded from the Examination Board official website at lp.moe.gov.my.
The announcement received mixed reactions from parents and students, with some requesting for the SPM 2021 schedule, which will take place from March 3 to 20, 2022, to be reviewed, especially the papers held on Fridays and Sundays.
This is because Muslims perform Friday prayers, while Christians attend mass on Sundays.
