Noraini: New portal to promote ‘Study in M’sia’

EVERYTHING students need to know about Malaysian varsities is now available in a one-stop portal.

The Discover Education Malaysia portal by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad said, is a convenient information portal on higher education institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia.

The Higher Education Minister said this is in line with the “Study in Malaysia” brand.

“It provides an additional digital platform to the existing Education Malaysia website that was developed with the interests and needs of Malaysia’s higher education sector in mind.

“The Discover Education Malaysia portal is the gateway to promote Malaysia’s higher education to the global market.

“It includes information on Malaysia’s HEIs’ backgrounds, programmes, fee structures, career pathways, students’ testimonials, as well as informative articles.

“The data featured in this portal comes from related government organisations such as the Department of Higher Education, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, the Home Affairs Ministry, the Department of Skills Development and the Private Education Division,” she said during the launch of the portal at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.

EMGS chief executive officer Mohd Radzlan Jalaludin said the portal attracted more than 100,000 visitors from 121 countries in less than two months after it was set up in June this year.

With its aspiration of promoting Malaysia as the international education hub of choice among students, he said EMGS has built a platform that can benefit and connect all HEIs with potential international students and parents from around the world.

“The Discover Education Malaysia portal is an additional digital platform to the existing Education Malaysia website that is systematically built with the interest and needs of Malaysia’s higher education industry,” he added.

The portal features more than 420 institutions, approved by the Home Affairs Ministry, which cover public and private universities, foreign branch campuses, colleges, language centres, skills centres and international schools, with a total of more than 13,800 courses and programmes offered, Mohd Radzlan said.
